CEO Joshua Chegne's Message

How time flies! 40 years have passed since Ling Kwang Home first opened its doors to build a safe place for seniors to live out their golden years.

And as I pen this message, I am filled with gratefulness that the Home has remained true to this day, the tenets adopted by our founders, “Not to be ministered unto, but to minister” (Matthew 20:28) and “Blessed are the merciful.” (Matthew 5:8). And I am much blessed to be passed the baton more than 3 years ago to helm Ling Kwang Home. All praise and glory to God!

To many, choosing to live life in a nursing home is usually not the first choice for themselves nor their loved ones. However, we recognise that when a resident moves in, Ling Kwang Home may become their forever home.

Appreciating that there is a growing number of seniors in Singapore requiring care at our Home, and that includes seniors living with dementia, Ling Kwang Home’s main thrust in the years ahead is to ensure that we are fully equipped to serve all our residents regardless of their conditions. Management is committed to continue making our Home senior-friendly and also dementia-friendly and empower our residents by maintaining their independence through the use of technological assistance in order that they lead meaningful and purposeful lives.

I am also excited to share that our Additions and Alterations (A&A) Project for our Main Block is being launched as at the time of writing! This is part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible care environment for our residents and clients.

I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratefulness for the invaluable support from my Executive Committee (ExCo) Honorary Chairman and all ExCo members. I also wish to commend my Management and staff of Ling Kwang Home for their enthusiasm and diligent contributions.

Last but not least, I must also thank our volunteers, donors and the public for their unwavering and generous care in our service to the elderly.
